Licensing

The licensing of Libre is a complicated thing. This is intended as an overview of how you can expect licensing of Libre materials to play out. This information is targeted toward developers, players need not worry about the licensing conditions as most things a player and/or fan would want to do are permitted.

• The card data itself is Public Domain. For example, card names and card text fields are public domain. XML markup is not.
• Card pages on the Wiki are Creative Commons Attribution licensed, as are the XML card data in those pages which is card data formatted with XML tags to make parsing possible.
• The card template is Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike licensed.
• Rendered cards are also Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike licensed due to the use (“transformation”) of the CC-BY-SA licensed template.
• Software written specifically for Libre is licensed under AGPLv3.
